Hello Everyone,
It is always important to take care of your hands and feet as much as you take care of your face. Because hands and feet are the most exposed part of our body and skin of hands and feet tends to dry very easily.
Don’t you think, nails are the most beautiful parts of our hands? And taking care of them doesn’t mean splurging on an expensive manicure. You can do it at your home with the help of the right manicure set.
Now, I’m going to breaking down each step with the necessary tools, so that you can able to get a professional-looking manicure at home.
Let’s look at the steps to learn how to do a manicure at home.
Step 1
Always wash and clean your hand before starting off.
Soak your hand in lukewarm water, so that it can soften the cuticles and skin around the nail. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil in the water for extra relaxation.
Step 2
Now, use a fingernail brush to scrub under the nails. An old toothbrush can do the same but make sure its bristles are soft enough.
Step 3
Now use a flat rounded tip cuticle pusher to push the cuticle back. Be as gentler as possible. Warm water makes cuticle soft and easy to push back.
Step 4
If your cuticle appears thick and hard, then use a cuticle trimmer to cut them. But be careful while trimming the skin.
Step 5
Now when you are done with cuticles, use a nail chopper to trim and shape your nail. It is a simple and safe tool that gives your nails the desired shape and length. You can also use the fingernail chopper to give nails tip the shape you want like oval, round or square.
Step 6
Now use an emery board to file your nails. Stay away from metal filers since they are not flexible and can damage your nails. While filing nails always go in one direction like from edge toward the center of the nail. Using a back and forth motion while filing can split nails that you don’t want it to occur.
Step 7
Now use a thicker emery board or nail buffer to buff the surface of the nails making it smoother. You can also try rectangular block buffers to polish and smoothing of nails.
Step 8
Wash your hand and pat dry. Now apply cuticle cream or oil over nails and give a gentle massage. Let it sit for some minutes then use a tissue to soak up the residue.
Step 9
Now it is time to apply the base coat which prevents nails from turning yellow. When the base cost gets completely dried, apply your favorite nail paint. Let it dry then apply a topcoat for extra glossiness and shine.
Step 10
Last and the most important step is to wash and disinfect your manicure tools after every use. You can use rubbing alcohol and leave those tools in it for some time. This disinfects those tools and prevents bacterial growth.
